On 25th February, the Women’s Cell of Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology celebrated the National Science day by organizing a program along with YWCA India, an international organization working for the welfare and development of women. The program focused on Safetipin an app that can be used to create safe public spaces. Science and Technology has enabled women to advance in life. Safetipin is an app that adds value to the quality and safety of women. The General Secretary of YWCA Ms. Kalpana David, spoke about YWCA and its initiatives. She talked about the new course being launched by YWCA about sexual harassment and safety of women at work places. Rev. Fr. Dr. Tomy Joseph addressed the participants on the importance of women, their safety and the role of Science in women’s advancement. Principal Dr. P. Mohanlal, addressed the participants appreciating the collaboration of the Women’s Cell and YWCA.Ms. Dhiya, National Administrator at YWCA elaborated on the app, its usage, the method of audit etc. She clarified the doubts students had about the app.It was a wonderful learning experience for all participants. #YWCA#Womencell#lmcst#safetipin#safepublicspaces#app
